The Top 5 Steakhouses In Pattaya

Pattaya is well known for its fantastic restaurants, with an endless range of Thai food to enjoy. And while most of us love diving into local delicacies (maybe skipping the fried scorpion!), there are times—especially if you live here—when you crave a taste of home. Western food can be hit or miss across Asia, just as Asian dishes abroad don’t always feel quite right. Luckily, Pattaya has some excellent steak houses that really deliver. I haven’t tried every single one yet, but these are my top five favourites so far.

The Upstairs Lounge Bar & Grill

The Upstairs Lounge Bar and Grill sits right at the Beach Road entrance to Central Festival, just up the stairs on the right-hand side as you face the mall from the beach. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with a spacious, airy vibe. We chose to sit outside, overlooking the stage and market area below. The live music was present but never overpowering — it actually added to the atmosphere.

The menu here is varied, offering far more than steaks — you’ll also find pizza, seafood, Thai dishes, and more. But let’s get to the point: the steak. Simply put, it was the best I’ve had in my time in Pattaya. Cooked to perfection, it was a solid 10/10 for me. The knife slid through effortlessly, the meat was tender and juicy, and the pepper sauce complemented it beautifully. The sides were just right too.

For our meal — two steaks, two desserts, and a bottle of wine — the bill came to 2,900 Baht, with the wine alone accounting for 1,300 Baht. Considering the quality, I thought it was excellent value.

The service was spot on as well: attentive and friendly without being intrusive. All in all, The Upstairs Lounge Bar and Grill is a place I’ll definitely be returning to.

Soi Lengkee – A Steak Lover’s Hotspot

If you’re a fan of steaks, Soi Lengkee is a street you won’t want to forget. Here, three excellent steakhouses sit side by side, giving you plenty of choice. Even if one is busy, you’ll still have two more top-quality options just a few steps away.

The American BBQ & Grill

The American BBQ & Grill has a small outdoor seating area and a comfortable indoor space with both tables and classic diner-style booths.

The menu is built for carnivores—though there are salads and lighter options, the real stars are the steaks, ribs, and chops. The steak selection covers all the classics: T-bone, sirloin, New York strip, and wagyu. I tried the T-bone on a recent evening, and it was perfectly cooked—juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Alongside the steaks, you’ll find juicy ribs, pork chops, wagyu beef burgers, fajitas, plus a few noodle dishes and Thai favorites.

It’s a relaxed spot where food arrives quickly but without any pressure to rush your meal. Prices are fair, with a steak and a drink coming to around 1,000 baht per person. Drinks are varied, and the milkshakes are as indulgent as you’d hope from an American-style BBQ joint.

This is one of the best options for families. Kids may not always want a steak, but the wide menu ensures everyone finds something they love.

Verdict: Casual, friendly, and reliably tasty—a perfect spot for a relaxed steak night with friends or family.

Steak & Co Smoking Joe's BBQ

Smokin’ Joe’s BBQ is my go-to steakhouse in Pattaya—not necessarily because the steaks are noticeably better than the others on this list, but because I’m a creature of habit. I like the place, the staff are friendly, the food is excellent, and the drinks menu is impressive—perfect if you enjoy a bottle of wine with your meal.

It’s a relaxed spot with both indoor and outdoor seating, making it easy to enjoy a casual meal no matter your preference. The steaks are very good—sirloins and T-bones alike—and I’ve always been happy with my choices. The brisket, however, is truly excellent, and there’s also an excellent blue cheese sauce along with a variety of other sauces to complement your steak.

Beyond steaks, the pulled pork is fantastic as well. The restaurant is open all day with daily specials and discounts on dishes and drinks. While I’m not usually a dessert person, I can’t resist Smokin’ Joe’s apple crumble with ice cream—a guilty pleasure that’s hard to turn down.

Pricing is similar to the other steakhouses on this list: around 1,000 baht will cover a steak and a drink or two.

Verdict: Friendly, reliable, and perfect for those who appreciate great food, a good wine selection, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

Flame

Flame has a similar vibe to Smoking Joe’s and The American BBQ, with a welcoming balcony at the front and a comfortable indoor seating area. The steak selection is excellent, featuring Wagyu, rolled rib eye, tenderloin, striploin, and more. Beyond steaks, the menu offers a rack of lamb, salmon, a tomahawk pork chop, or a half chicken. The beef wellington is particularly impressive, and for those craving a taste of home, the Sunday Roast is both delicious and reasonably priced.

Desserts are just as tempting, with a wide range to choose from—creme brûlée comes highly recommended.

The Robin Hood Tavern

The Robin Hood Tavern is located upstairs at The Avenue Pattaya, a nice spot that keeps you away from the hustle and bustle but perfectly placed for a stroll around the market after your meal. As the name suggests, it’s styled as an English pub, though with a more upmarket twist.

The menu is broad with plenty of pub classics — steaks (a little pricier than some nearby options but very good quality), fish and chips, curries, and even a Philly sandwich. The bar is well-stocked with a huge selection of drinks, exactly what you’d expect from a proper pub. Every dish I’ve tried here has been authentic and well-prepared.

Atmosphere-wise, I’ve only visited at lunchtime when it was on the quiet side, so it didn’t have much buzz. The manager was welcoming and greeted us on arrival, though the rest of the staff felt a little unenthusiastic. Still, the food quality more than made up for it, and overall it’s a solid choice for anyone looking for pub fare in the center of Pattaya.
